About us
fonio.ai is the European AI platform for end-to-end customer communication. Founded in Vienna in 2024 by Daniel Keinrath and Matthias Gruber, the company is evolving from an AI telephone assistant to an international omnichannel platform with its own tool ecosystem: WhatsApp, email and chatbot support will follow the existing voice solution, a proprietary calendar is already available, and a proprietary CRM will be available by the end of Q3 2026.
More than 40 employees serve over 7,000 customers in nine markets—including Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Poland, Brazil, and recently the United Kingdom and the USA.
In September 2025, the company acquired its Linz-based competitor fluently. In December 2025 fonio.ai closed a pure angel financing round of 3 million euros, and in April 2026 Alexander Brix joined the management team as Chief Commercial Officer.
