What's the hiring process?
3-4 steps. It starts with a 15-minute intro call, followed by a 30-45 minute skills interview, sometimes including a case study. Depending on the role, there may be a third interview: either a deeper skills dive or a conversation with the division lead. Every process ends with a 20-minute culture call with both of our founders, after which we make our final decision quickly.
How do you work?
Fast, committed, and in-office. Most of the team is together every day, and that's how we like it. Product team works remote.
Where's the office?
7th district, Vienna. Penthouse, big roof terrace, central, great transport links.
Do I have to relocate to Vienna?
It depends on the role. Engineering roles are fully remote (within ±3h CET) and relocation is not required, though we support it. AE and SDR roles outside the DACH market start with a temporary stay in Vienna for onboarding, after which you'll relocate permanently to your target market (e.g., Barcelona, Paris). All other roles are Vienna-based, with the expectation that you're in the office most days.
Do you offer relocation support?
Yes. If you move for us, we've got you covered. We'll walk you through exactly what that looks like during the interview process.
Why do I need to temporarily relocate to Vienna?
We have a culture worth experiencing in person. For AEs and SDRs joining our new markets, starting in Vienna is how we make sure that culture actually lands before you go on to represent fonio elsewhere.
How does the temporary relocation to Vienna work?
We sponsor your travel and accommodation in Vienna for roughly 1-3 months, depending on the role. Once onboarding is complete, you'll move to your target market as we open the local office there.
How big is the team?
50 people today, doubling by end of year. You're still early enough that your work will genuinely shape the culture, the product, and the company.
