Referral or reseller—what's the difference?
As a referral partner, fonio handles billing, support, and onboarding for the customer, and you earn a commission. As a reseller, you buy at a discount, set your own prices, and maintain the customer relationship. Resellers start at 20% right away, not 15% as in the referral partner program, and have lower revenue thresholds for advancing to the next tiers.
Can resellers skip levels?
Yes. Sign up for €999/month to get Gold status immediately (25%), or let’s discuss other options if you’d like to start at a higher tier.
How does the training work?
Referral partners do not need any training to get started. Resellers must complete a free training course within three months—covering product knowledge, brand guidelines, and support protocols. Platinum+ (30%+) requires an additional paid certification. Everything is renewed annually.
Can I switch between models?
Yes. Complete the free training and you'll be a reseller. Your tier and rate will be applied. Resellers can also refer customers to deals that they do not wish to bill themselves.
What if none of the options work?
Please leave your contact information below, and we'll get in touch to discuss a personalized plan. Enterprise deals, co-branding, or anything else.
Can I sell my own services at the same time?
Yes. Many referral partners offer consulting, implementation, or integration services related to fonio. You bill for your services separately. fonio handles product billing and support.
Do I need training or certification?
No. Referral partners can get started right away. Free training is required for Platinum members (30%+) and must be renewed annually.
Can I switch to the reseller later?
Yes. You can switch at any time by completing the free training. Your level and commission rate will be carried over. As a reseller, you start at the Silver level (20%) and handle billing with customers yourself.
How do the levels work?
Five tiers, ranging from Bronze (15%) to Diamond (35%). If you change tiers—for example, by moving up a level—the higher rate applies to all customers, not just new ones. All levels are lifelong.
What does the Individual Plan include?
Custom demo volume, custom phone numbers, and a minimum of 25% commission. Tell us what you need, and we'll build a plan around it.
What are my responsibilities as a reseller?
You issue invoices to your customers and are responsible for managing customer relationships. You are responsible for first-level support. If a customer contacts fonio directly, we'll handle it without asking any further questions. Each customer needs their own fonio account with their own subscription plan.
How do credits work in the Gold Plan?
Your monthly contribution creates a credit pool. You use these credits to purchase fonio packages for your customers. If you use more than your allocated pool, the excess will be billed at the agreed discount rate (Committed Discount Rate). The commitment is a minimum—there is no upper limit.
Can I also refer customers instead of reselling?
Yes. Any reseller can refer customers using their own link—fonio will bill them, and you'll receive a commission. Commission tiers and reseller discount tiers operate independently of one another. No additional registration is required.
How do the animal levels work?
Four reseller tiers, ranging from Silver (20%) to Diamond (35%). When you level up, the higher discount applies to all your customers. If sales decline, the lower discount will apply from that point on. All Tiers are lifetime. Fast Track: For €999/month, you’ll immediately receive Gold (25%).
